Twitter Blue Subscription No Longer Available Following Rise In Fake Verified Accounts

Twitter started charging $8 to verify the account and give it a blue tick badge. The
company’s new owner planned to monetize the world’s richest man, Elon Musk’s Twitter
account verification service. But his plan got a big setback in the beginning.

Many fake accounts get blue ticks because of the facility to verify accounts for just
eight dollars. Fake information started spreading from these accounts. As a result,
Twitter authorities were forced to stop this service last Friday. News from The Guardian.

Last month Elon Musk bought Twi-tter for 4 thousand 4 billion US dollars. In just two weeks,
he has made a huge change on Twi-tter. One of these is the new subscription service for
Stay Fervid. Earlier, Twitter-  gave this badge by verifying stars and journalists from
various fields. There was less risk of spreading fake tweets. But now anyone can buy this
badge with money.

Already, blue ticks have been taken on fake accounts of various organizations by spending
money. Fake tweets are being made from these accounts. In the meantime, fake tweets in the
name of the pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly and Company said that insulin is being given
free of charge. Apart from this, fake accounts in the name of Nintendo, Lockheed Martin,
and even Elon Musk’s own company Tesla have been blue ticked.

In this chaotic situation of Twi-tter, many advertisers have stopped advertising on this
platform. Now after the spread of fake tweets with blue ticks, analysts believe that their
trust in Twitter will decrease further.
