T20 World Cup: England beat Pakistan to win pulsating final in Melbourne

T20 World Cup:England beat Pakistan by five wickets in a pulsating final in Melbourne to win the Men’s T20 World Cup and become double world champions.

Ben Stokes did not regret it very much. The English all-rounder hit Carlos Brathwaite for four
sixes in the last over in the 2016 World Cup final. West Indies won the match which was in the
hands of England. Six years later England won the title with Stokes’ contribution. The team
won the second T20 World Cup title by defeating Pakistan with his bat at the team’s moment

Jos Buttler’s team beat Pakistan by five wickets in the final at the MCG on Sunday. The English
captain won the toss and bowled first. Pakistan could not score more than 137 runs for eight
wickets thanks to its bowlers. In reply, England reached the target with Stokes’ unbeaten 52
runs in one over.

England lost their wicket in the first over after going to bat for an easy target. Shaheen Shah
Afridi made a great start by bowling Alex Hales directly. The rhythmic opener went back with
just one run. Butler then tried to turn around with Phil Salt. But in the fourth over, Salt also
bounced back with the wicket of Haris Rauf (10).

England were under a lot of pressure when Buttler returned in the last over of the Powerplay. He
returned with a catch behind the wicket from Haris Rauf. The English captain was dismissed for
26 runs off 17 balls. Three Lions finished the powerplay with 49 runs for three wickets. Then
Stokes took the lead of the team. Formed a pair of 39 runs with Brooke.

Stokes was defeated by Nasim Shah’s out-swinging delivery in the last ball of the twelfth over.

 victory by hitting Mohammad Wasim for three boundaries. England needed just seven runs from
 the last two overs to win. In the 19th over, Moeen was swallowed back, but Stokes left the 
field after the team reached the port of victory. He completed his fifty with a four off the
 fourth ball of that over. The last ball pushed the ball to mid-wicket for a run and gave
 England the World Cup. Stokes played an unbeaten innings of 52 runs off 49 balls.


Earlier, Pakistan could not start as expected with the bat. Ben Stokes came to bowl the first
 over with the ball. The English all-rounder took a no ball on the first ball. But Rizwan could
 not use the free hit. At the other end, Babar started in a cold mood as usual. In the fifth
 over, Pakistan's opening pair broke, Rizwan went back inside edge bowled by Karan

The Pakistan wicketkeeper returned with 15 runs off 14 balls. Then Haris came and could not
 accompany the captain for long. Rashid scored 8 runs off 12 balls before being caught by Stokes
 at long on. Pakistan lost the second wicket for 45 runs. Babar made a partnership of 39 runs 
with Masud for the third wicket. Both of them increased the speed of the run.

In the 12th over, English leg-spinner Rashid surprised the Pakistan team leader by googling the
 first ball in his second over of the match. Not understanding the ball, Babar returned with a
 catch in his hand. He departed with 32 runs from 28 balls. Rashid took the wicket maiden
 without giving any more runs in that over.
In the next over England pressed again, Stokes came back to Iftikhar. The 32-year-old
 middle-order batsman returned for zero runs. After his departure, Shadab and Masud formed
 resistance. Thanks to them, Pakistan was able to improve the run rate again. However, in the
 17th over, Karan broke the pair of 36 runs by returning Masood who scored 38 runs.

In the next over, Pakistan were under pressure when Shadab returned to Jordan. This bowling 
all-rounder returned after scoring 20 runs off 14 balls. Karan also dismissed Pakistan's last
 recognized batsman Nawaz in the 19th over. This all-rounder returned after only five runs.
 Pakistan lost wickets in the last over as Mohammad Wasim became Jordan's second victim. Babar's
 team stopped at 137 runs after scoring only 10 runs in the last two overs.
